Democrat Barak Obama has once again proved that he has an upper hand as far the US Presidential election is concerned. Obama has defeated John McCain of Republican Party by five to one in terms of popularity and number of friends in major social networking sites of US. According to a report of Pew Research Center's Project for Excellence in journalism, the 47-year-old Obama has more friends and followers in US's most famous social networking sites- Facebook and Myspace than McCain. This type of results not boosts the image of Obama, but also puts him way ahead in the race for the White House.

The report said elaborately that Obama has 1.7 million supporters in Facebook and 510,000 in Myspace while his counterpart from Republican Party manages to grab 309,000 friends in Facebook and 88000 in Myspace. One of the factors responsible for the defeat of McCain might be his age. At the moment, the environmentalist McCain is 72 years old. Obama on the other hand acquired much of fame and affection from people belonging to all age group, especially the youth.
